In order to instill public confidence and to identify possible savings or the need for increased revenue, the Wake County Board of Commissioners and the Wake County Board of Education jointly established a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) to review the operations budget of the Wake County Public School System. The underlying goal of the CAC will be to determine the appropriate level of funding to ensure progress toward having 95% of Wake County students achieve at or above grade level. |

The Readers to Achievers: Support for Academic Success program is recruiting 2,003 literacy coaches to volunteer with the school system's Accelerated Learning Program (ALP). The ALP helps students who are not yet achieving on grade level by providing them additional instruction. Help a child master reading and give them a leg up on success. |
