New Schools Opening 2010-11

Two new year-round schools for 2010-11 opened on the multi-track, year-round calendar on July 9, 2010.

Two new traditional schools for 2010-11 opened on August 25, 2010.
Students
  • 143,432 students expected for 2010-11
  • More than 11,000 kindergartners expected this year (Class of 2023)
  • WCPSS remains the largest school district in the state, and the 18th largest in the nation.
 Starting Dates and Calendars

Year-round schools began on Friday, July 9. Modified calendar schools started Monday, July 26. Wake Early College of Health and Sciences started Monday, August 9. Traditional calendar schools began on Wednesday, August 25.
