Grievances

If a parent has a problem with a teacher or staff memer at a particular school, they should contact that school's principal.

If the principal does not respond satisifactorily, or if the problem is with the principal, they may contact the area assistant superintendent responsible for that school.

You can find area assistant superintendent responsibility in the Area Assistant Superintendents' section of this Website. Scroll down the page past the map.

Area assistant superintendents can also be reached using the Central Office mailing address.

If the problem is still not resolved, a student, parent or guardian may initiate the grievance procedure as outline in Board Policy 6520. This is a formal process, and each step must be followed as stated in the policy.

Disciplinary Actions

If the problem has to do with student discipline, such as a suspension, you can find out more about you and your child's rights and the appeals process through the Student Due Process section of this Website.

WCPSS Administrative Decisions

If the problem is in regards to specific WCPSS administrative department's responsibility area, such as student assignment (Office of Growth Management) or school bus stops, schedules and so (Transportation), contact the appropriate department using the Ask WCPSS page. If the appropriate department is not listed, please send your complaint to our Customer Service Center and they will ensure that it promptly reaches the person best able to help you.

If you are unsatisfied with the response to your grievance, notify the department in writing, and they will inform you of the options available to you.

Board Policy

If it turns out that you find a particular Board Policy objectionable, please contact your elected School Board representative.
