About Us
The Secondary Programs Team is a member of the Instructional Services Division. Team members are committed to providing leadership and support for families as they navigate the exciting middle and high school years and for teachers as they seek to deliver rigorous courses within a safe, orderly and caring environment. Our goal is to develop systems that support both traditional and magnet schools to ensure that the courses offered are aligned to local, state and national standards, relevant to student needs and of sufficient rigor to assure career or post-secondary options upon graduation. We seek to continuously improve the instructional program by offering leadership in national trends, training in best practices and resource deployment that supports teaching and learning.
Parents and students are encouraged to sample the wealth of information available on this site. Students should also begin to personalize their secondary experience by joining one of the many extra-curricular activities that are offered in our schools. The many skills developed in these clubs, activities or organizations will prove to be assets in the world of tomorrow.
High School Programs (Grades 9-12)
High schools are committed to assisting students in their pursuit of a program of learning that meets their needs and interests. Choices students make in high school affect options available to them in the post-secondary environment. Efforts at the high school level address courses of study that offer a coherent approach to programs that meet national, state and local standards. Additionally, schools have created processes and programs to personalize the high school experience. The Secondary Program Team works collaboratively with schools to ensure that all students graduate on time prepared for the future.
