Curriculum: Traditional
Traditional curriculum schools offer students high quality instruction, opportunities for advanced studies, creative exploration and extra-curricular activities in a nurturing educational setting. Some of the highest-performing schools in Wake County are traditional curriculum schools.
Description
Apex High School excels in academics as well as athletics, providing a
well-rounded educational experience for students. We offer challenging and
diverse opportunities through unique academic programs, such as the Academy of
Instructional Technology; a variety of clubs and competitions ranging from the
multicultural club to the quiz bowl; and an athletic program that has proven
to be one of the best in the state. Our fine arts department presents
outstanding plays, concerts, and exhibits throughout the school year and has
been the recipient of many awards for excellence.
Apex High teachers and students are trained in advanced technological skills
and place an emphasis on integrating these skills into the curriculum. Our
facilities include a state-of-the-art media center, several fully equipped
computer labs, and roving wireless laptop labs for classroom use.
We are proud to have 18 teachers at Apex High School who are Nationally Board
Certified and support the efforts of all our faculty members as they strive
toward teaching excellence, professional development, and a strong community
relationship.
