The Broughton Magnet High School community embraces a commitment to teach all students to think critically, appreciate diversity, serve others and be productive, responsible citizens in a global society.
One of four magnet high schools in our system, Broughton offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme for grades 9 and 10 and the IB Diploma Programme for grades 11 and 12. In the Middle Years Programme, students take courses in foreign language, arts, and technology along with traditional core courses.
Broughton Magnet High School serves a diverse population of over 2100 young people with an emphasis on academic excellence and community involvement. Students’ views of the world are expanded through the five Areas of Interaction, which are broad themes that link the classroom to the international community. Broughton is proud to join the International Baccalaureate Organization in promoting academic excellence, responsible world citizenship and respect for diverse cultures and attitudes.
Directions
Take I-440/Beltline to Cameron Village exit (Wade Avenue). Follow Wade Avenue to St. Mary's Street and take a right. The school is on corner of St. Mary's and Peace Street.
OR
Take Capital Boulevard to Peace Street exit. Head toward NCSU campus (away from downtown). The school is on the right at the corner of Peace and St. Mary's Street.
