Program designed for 21st Century skills acquisition through:

1.Extensive opportunities to enhance learning through a variety of technology

2.Study includes five focus areas for community interaction: visual arts, dance, drama, music, and physical education

3.Emphasis on effective communication skills including Spanish as a second language

4.Active, hands-on project-based learning modules

Description

The Conn Active Learning and Technology (CALT) model will prepare its students for personal, academic, social, and career success in the future. By creating a learning environment that is active, integrated, thought-provoking, and rich in technological, written, and human resources, CALT's program will prepare students who are equipped with process/problem-solving skills for all future learning, and who care deeply about the community and the world in which they live.

Student Outcomes:

· process-/problem-solving skills for success in new learning situations

· effective communication skills of: collaboration, presentation, writing, artistic expression, and beginning conversational Spanish language

· technological skills to aid in problem solving, in-depth research, presentation, communication, and in planning, expediting, or enhancing the creation of art or a product

· concern for others and the community as a whole
